Q: Where is Albers Aerospace located?
A: Although we have employees working in over 20 states across the nation, our SkillBridge internships are all hosted at either our McKinney, Texas headquarters or at our Grand Prairie, Texas aircraft parts manufacturing facility (Heritage Aviation).

Q: What is DoD SkillBridge?
A: The DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences. Click the button below for more information on the program:

Q: How long is a typical internship?
A: Internship may last up to 6 months during a service members last 180 days of service. 

Q: Which branches of service are you seeking?
A:  We are looking for highly motivated and driven teammates from all military branches.

Q. When should I apply for DoD SkillBridge?
A: We recommend that you start working with your command as soon as possible! Most candidates start at the 12 month mark after receiving official approval to leave the military.  This will allow for you to start your internship at the 6 months mark from transition and to prepare your resume for selection at a host company. See below in the Next Steps section for more information.

Albers Aerospace Skillbridge Teammates

LCDR Patrick Imhoff

LCDR Patrick Imhoff spent most of his years in the Navy flying the P-3C Orion. After finishing his internship he accepted a position at Albers Aerospace flying the Lear 60 and serving as the Executive Assistant to the CEO.

Sr. Master Sergeant Tyler Allan

Senior Master Sergeant Tyler Allan joined our team in January 2021 through Hiring Our Heroes as he transitioned out of the Air Force. Tyler spent his time in the Air Force conducting aircraft maintenance, more specifically propulsion mechanic on MC-130Es and stealth coatings on F-22s. Tyler has also managed aircraft maintenance on multiple aircraft platforms to include, C-17, F-22, MC-130J, CV-22 and MQ-9s. Additionally, Tyler spent a brief part of his career as a MC-130P Flight Engineer. Tyler is now a Lead A&P Mechanic with Albers Aerospace.

SERGEANT CHRIS BILITI

Chris Biliti joined our team in 2021 as a SkillBridge Fellow and we are grateful for his contribution to the team. Following his Fellowship, he accepted a full-time position and is now the Albers Information Systems Manager.

NEXT STEPS

We are excited to be a part of your military transition. Landing a DoD SkillBridge fellowship takes a lot of planning and coordination. There are two basic parts.
• DoD SkillBridge Participation and Command Approval. Be sure to pay attention to your service specific instructions:
