John is the founder, Chairman, President, CEO, and majority owner of Albers Aerospace Holdings LLC. The company is headquartered in the Dallas area and is comprised of Three Business Units: (1) Industrials (2) Innovation (3) Defense. The original company was started in 2015 shortly after John’s retirement from the US Marine Corps at the rank of Colonel following 24 years of service.
John’s primary responsibility is leading the portfolio on a growth trajectory that enables excellence in our service and product offerings through business pursuits and the recruitment and retention of phenomenal people. The company has experienced unprecedented growth since 2018 and continues to accelerate its product and services offering under an Inspire Others/Deliver Value vision.
Through acquisitions and organic growth, Albers Aero has enjoyed success in delivering excellence to our customers via an aggressive People First/Impact Always culture coupled with a focus on enhancing our offerings in a rapidly maturing marketplace. John has over 24 years of active-duty time flying around the globe as a fleet pilot, flight instructor, and developmental test pilot. John was one of the first Marine Acquisition Professionals selected for that new MOS when the Corps decided to have Marines specialize in defense acquisitions. Other career highlights include being a graduate of the US Naval Test Pilot School, Class 117, and being the first Marine hand selected to command the US Navy’s full-spectrum flight test squadron (Test and Evaluation Squadron 20) at NAS Patuxent River, MD. He was also the military team lead for the $6 billion CH-53K program and spent time as the Marine Corps’ personal advisor to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition.
As a former test pilot, John is an active flyer today with over 5000 hours in 59 different types of aircraft. He has type ratings in the CE510, CE550, BE300/350, and holds most FAA certifications from ATP to SES Pilot and UAV (Part 107). He flew just over 140 combat hours in the KC-130J, the aircraft he was a test pilot on, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he also served as a liaison to MAG-29 (Reinforced) in the Anbar Province at Al Asad Air Base for engineering and technical matters.
John graduated with a BS in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M and an MBA from Northcentral University in Arizona.
