The company is headquartered in the Dallas area and is comprised of Three Business Units: (1) Industrials (2) Innovation (3) Defense.
Mike leads the Innovation Group across all engineering and technology development activities. He is responsible for delivering robust digital engineering services, enhancing our technology investment portfolio from product support design/development to unmanned solutions, ensuring product quality, and recruiting and developing engineering talent.
Mike has over 15 years of engineering experience as part of the defense industrial base. His broad project experience includes modeling & simulation, development & deployment of advanced sensors, tracking, command & control, and fire control. He has domain experience in ISR, border and critical infrastructure security, force protection, counter rocket, artillery, mortar (C-RAM), counter UAS (C-UAS), and Advanced Teaming. His experiences stretch from operations analysis, through integration & test, to operations and sustainment.
Mike’s leadership experience began with being principal investigator for small R&D projects for a large DoD prime. There, he was exposed to the process of managing large investment portfolios. These projects turned into products, where he led integration & test teams, deploying these systems into the field. As a Lead Systems Engineer, he led a large team to rapidly develop, build, deploy, and upgrade (software & hardware) systems for the United States military.
Prior to joining Albers, he took a short “sabbatical” from defense, leading the development of a portfolio of web / mobile applications, leveraging the very latest technology and development processes from Silicon Valley.
Mike graduated with a BS in Computer Science from Texas A&M and a Master’s in Systems Engineering Management from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
